Class Info

Class #1 - "The Original" - This class will consist of a thorough demonstration of each step of the bread making process. You will learn the master recipe I use, plus lots of tips and tricks, to make a delicious loaf of sourdough. I will have the dough ready at each step of the process so you can see exactly what needs to be done as well as what the dough should look like at each step. I will stop throughout the demonstration to answer any questions. I will also have bread for you to sample during the class. At the end of the class each person will be given their own jar of starter with the option of "feeding" it prior to leaving. All flours used are artisan quality and certified organic when possible.
Class #2 - "Hands on" - This class, or workshop, will be completely the same as the first option with the addition of each person getting to work with their own dough and take a basket of dough home to bake at their house. This class will be much smaller in size to accommodate the hands-on nature of it.
Bonus: there is a private Facebook group that you can join after the class where I will personally help you troubleshoot and answer questions as you embark on your bread making journey.
Most classes are hosted in people's homes that are invite only. Occasionally I will have one at a public venue. Want to host a class? You'll receive a special gift! Email sourdoughwithessie@gmail.com
Location
I will travel to the location of your choosing. Your house? Your church? A local venue? Yes! There just needs to be enough space for your group size. A working oven and fridge is helpful but not a necessity. I'm more than happy to travel up to 1 hour included as long as there is atleast 10 participants. For locations further than 1 hour there may be an additional travel fee and/or a higher number of participants needed. I am based out of the North East part of Maryland.

Payments + Cancellations
The first step is to email me to choose a date to host a class. From there payment can be made securely through Venmo: @sourdoughwithessie or via the website and all payments are due within 14 days of the scheduled workshop. Once payments are made there are no refunds or cancellations when the workshop is 5 days out due to my prep time starting days before the actual event. Should you have sickness arise I'd be happy to reschedule you for a different workshop - either in person or virtual. If in the rare event I personally need to cancel due to illness, all participants will receive a full refund with the option of rescheduling.
